Alex Kanevsky, Bride. 2006
24 x 24, oil on wood.
You may recognise this painting as strikingly similar to the miniature paintings by Adele Lack in Synedoche, New York. I’ve only just discovered the true artist behind these, Alex Kanevsky, and his body of work is really rather gorgeous. Of course this throws up questions of why Kanevsky would agree to paint ‘for’ a film, especially as the work of an on-screen artist, as that association would always exist. Does anyone else know of any other examples of this?
