Franziska Furter - Monstera, 2006.
How skeletal things are once the fire has coursed through.
I’m genuinely upset that I didn’t get to see her exhibition ‘Stray Currents’ at The Towner Contemporary Art Museum. Her work is so delicate, yet so brutal. It is genuinely haunting, as silhouettes devoid of colour seem so sad and striking that it only seems to speak of the ghosts of things. Their almost threatening presence detail the inner workings of chaos. This example doesn’t really show the detail of some of her works, unlike her pencil drawings, a few of which I’ll post, and her supernatural wire sculptures.
I wonder if this exhibition regret I’m developing is in fact a horrible thing that should be put in a bottle and thrown off a bridge.
